Consensual Listening is an interactive installation and continuing project. Materials for the tapes are sourced from my personal archives, specifically, Voice Memos. They are intimate audio collages intermingling: field recordings, self-surveillance, reenactments of self-surveillance (i.e., dramatized text message exchange), recordings of performance work and constructed materials (i.e., monologue). Consensual Listening questions our contemporary notions of simulation, creation and appropriation.
